Azram's has a reputation throughout Yorkshire for it's respect to every customer. Some of the customers who dine here include Jimmy Saville and John Hart.

The food is bought in daily and cooked from fresh ingredients, - the aroma is testimony to the foods freshness. The basis of the cooking is Pakistani in style and taste using the basic traditional ways of cooking and have been passed down from Azrams mother and Father, and also wife who has been a solid back to the restaurant.

The Sheesh Mahal, run by Azram Chaudhry, has been a Leeds success story since he took it over in February 1990. The restaurant has become so popular, and the food so good, that customers have been willing to wait at busy times for a table to become free. The Sheesh Mahal has become a Leeds institution, regularly winning accolades as one of the City's top Indian eateries.

Azram's success of the story is to treat people how you would like to be treated yourself as human - not as business contenders or money. Leeds's popular Indian restaurant, the Sheesh Mahal on Kirkstall Road, has doubled in size with the opening of an upstairs dining area.

The YEP's Oliver gave it 17 stars out of 20 and it was nominated as the best restaurant in Leeds by the Curry Club and as one of the hundred best in Britain by the same organisation. It also received four stars in the National Guide of Cuisine.

Azram Chaudhry has regular clientele, many of whom eat at the Sheesh Mahal every week. "I know them on a personal level", and many of them treat the restaurant as a second home and come from all over Yorkshire to eat. I started a visitors book, inviting customer comments in the hope of hearing any suggestions for improving the restaurant but none of his regulars could find anything detrimental to say. He encourages a family atmosphere at the Sheesh Mahal."I am pleased to say that this is one restaurant which women can come into and feel entirely at ease," he said. His customers include personalities from Yorkshire TV just up the road, - even The Australian cricket team have enjoyed the food at the Sheesh Mahal.

The Sheesh Mahal is open 5pm until midnight, seven days a week. The Sheesh Mahal restaurant also sponsors local events including Athletics and the 10k kirkstall Harriers race.
